“Llaüt” is the name of the small wooden boats that are typical for the Balearic Islands. These boats were traditionally used for fishing with nets and are real works of art elaborated by highly appreciated craftsmen called “mestre d’aixa”.
Built with wood from indigenous trees from the Balearic Islands they are 4 metres long, have 3 masts and a lateen.
Nowadays Llaüts are built with more modern materials and equipped with an engine. There are only a few authentic Llaüts left that were restored and are still in use.
Therefore, sailing on a Llaüt is something unique and special. Because of their stability and resistence they allow for many kinds of use from sport fishing to excursions along the Majorcan coastline.
With Mallorca Top Excursions & Activities you can book your trip on one of those traditional boats and enjoy this exclusive ride.
